The Male Guppy is one of the most popular tropical fish. They are bright and colourful which really stands out in any aquarium. Lyretail, or scissor-tail guppies are unusual and vibrant, a great addition to your guppy community. Please note - these are not Endlers, they are larger standard size guppy's.
Originating from South America, Guppies can be found in mountain streams as well as brackish rivers. Wild Guppies can be found around the world in places like Barbados, Trinidad, Singapore, Venezuela and the USA.

Ease of care
Easy. The sexes will need to either be kept separately or 2 females to every 1 male. They will harass the females otherwise.
Diet
The food we recommend is tropical fish flake. Take care not to overfeed your guppies.
Compatibility
A community fish, take caution not to house in an aquarium with fin-nippers.

Breeding / Sex
Guppies are live bearers so will spawn prolifically. Females can store sperm for up to 6 months, and can give birth to between 10 and 30 fry every 6 weeks. Guppy's can be sexed after around 5 weeks, males have a modified anal fin called the gonopodium.
Life Span
They can live to anything from 1-2 years in perfect conditions.
